About Us

Although Alesia has worked much of her career in high tech, she has long held a passion for learning about medicinal herbs.  She began her studies in earnest over 20 years ago, finally putting her desires into action.  She had the great fortune to study with the beloved Cascade Anderson Geller, as her first herbal guide.  Alesia looks upon this time with great reverence and with the deepest gratitude. 

As time moved on, balancing work and family life,   the study of herbs ebbed and flowed.  

In a turn towards serendipitous flow, Alesia received an opportunity to train at the foot of Mt. Hood with Jody Sterne, who has become her long time friend and mentor. In this group setting with wonderfully herbal minded women, Alesia journeyed through and successfully completed an intensive apprenticeship developed by Rosemary Gladstar, in the didactic, therapeutic, and field work of herbalism, sponsored by the Sage Mountain Herbal Center.  

With great satisfaction, she brings her love for this healing world forth, to share with you. 

  Lauren is an Ecological Engineer living near Alesia in Portland, Oregon. She earned a degree in Ecological Engineering from Oregon State, and has a background in environmental work. Her interests lie in exploring Portland, art, gardening, eating, health, and going with the flow. While her background is in engineering, she brings a unique perspective to DoJu Moon, from experience with sustainability, sales, social media, and the food industry.
